About the project
Parallel Project Training is one of the UK leading project management training organisations launched in 2011. The mission is to use modern learning methods to deliver higher quality training in a more cost effective way. This includes blended learning, distance learning and face-to-face workshops. They offer printed study guides, e-learning, podcasts, on-line social media study groups and class room training.
Challenges
During the start-up phase for the project they quickly identified Joomla® as the best platform for their on-line web presence. They wanted an LMS that could integrate with the rest of our website so that users had one login across the different areas of functionality including a shop, Jomsocial, newsletter and the LMS.
They didn't face any major difficulties. They did have some problems with the size of our SCORM packages because they contain lots of high definition video. However the support team helped to overcome this problem.
Selection Process
They evaluated most of the Joomla® compatible LMS systems back in 2010 and found that JoomLMS was the most comprehensive and reliable. They tested it with SCORM packages generated in Articulate and found it worked reliably and was stable. They therefore have been using it since that date, without any major difficulties.
Results
JoomLMS has enables them to deliver courses that combine documents, e-learning and podcasts to their clients who are professions project managers with high expectation levels. This has enables them to offer distance and blended learning in a highly cost effective way.
